Recognize the importance of obtaining a good history and physical examination, and of observation in the diagnosis of appendicitis; Recommend appropriate tests to aid in the diagnosis of appendicitis; Identify the indications for emergency hemodialysis; Recognize (through electrocardiographic changes) and manage hyperkalemia; and Discuss coagulopathies and other complications seen in patients on dialysis for renal failure.
